Long time..

Waheguru Jee Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Jee Ki Fateh

yeah so its been a long time since i've updated...i guess i'm just madd lazy...Well a lot has been going on since I last posted August 17th? Well first off we were in Florida at that time on vacation...now i'm back in CT...yeah so after I came back from Florida, I went to Camp Chardi Kala on that Sunday. Fun! It was a lot of fun this year. The Keertan Darbar was awesome...audio is up at SikhYouthCamp dot org..replace "dot" with "." ...anyways..soo I went to camp...hung out and chilled and yeah all the cool kids...haha...I did one shabad there...Amrit Naam Sada Nirmalia...anyways so after Camp..like two days later...school started...yeah..boring....then September 2nd was Hardeeps Dastar bandi...madd funn....and that same night our Monthly Sikh Youth Keertan at Southington Gurudwara in CT..that was good as well...not much sangat was there, but there was enough keertan for a little over an hour...if you want the audio...msg me up....anyways...yeah so schools been really boring....btw last Friday was the Atlanta Rainnsbai...audio is up at keertan dot karansc dot com...replace "dot" with "." ...and yeah so I'm really looking forward to the Atlanta Camp in December and Preeti Didi's wedding...gonna be funn...hopefully i'll be able to go...also...December 2nd...Southington CT Rainnsbai...we're not sure whos coming yet....but mark your calandars...anyways....yeah so thats my over one month update...hopefully i'll update soon...

Dodra? AKJ? Confused...

Ok, so for a few days now, I've been wondering: What's the difference between Dodra and AKJ. Both do the same style of keertan with simran and akhand keertan. But what is the difference?

Somebody tell me!

So today we went to Disney MGM Studios. The place is amazing. Walt Disney did an awesome job creating Walt Disney World. It deffinately is amazing. Anyways, while waiting in line, I listened to my iPod. I was going through the playlist and I found a shabad I had of Bhai Heera Singh Jee. I listened to it before, but never really payed attention to it. So today I listened to the shabad. I can't remember the first shabad he did, but the second shabad he did was Vaaho Vaaho Gobin Singh Aapai Gur Chaela. The way he does keertan is amazing...Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru.

Anyways so before we came to Florida for vacation I was in India for a little over a month. Baru Sahib camp was awesome this year. We did one Rainnsbai and one 2 and a half hour smaagam. At the first Rainnsbai one keertani did a shabad Rangan Rango Seevan Seevo. At the second one somebody also did the same shabad. It's an amazing shabad...

This is my first post on my blog =)

Anyways right now I'm on the phone with Gurvinderpal Singh He's a chill dude. Anyways so we're in Florida right now at the resort. Florida is very cool and a very nice place.

So today we went to the Orlando Gurdwara. The entrance was a little confusing when we were trying to get inside. We entered the darbar hall or as the sign said "Prayer Hall". There wasn't much sangat there. The Bhai Sahib of the Gurdwara(I think that was him) was doing keertan with another young Singh on the tabla. After the Bhai Sahib did keertan, a young Kaur did a shabad. The Bhai Sahib did another shabad and then Anand Sahib.


After ardas, the Bhai Sahib did Hukamnava. Here is the shabad:

sorat(h) mehalaa 5 ||
Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:

gur poorai charanee laaeiaa ||
The Perfect Guru has attached me to His feet.

har sa(n)g sehaaee paaeiaa ||
I have obtained the Lord as my companion, my support, my best friend.

jeh jaaeeai thehaa suhaelae ||
Wherever I go, I am happy there.

kar kirapaa prabh maelae ||1||
By His Kind Mercy, God united me with Himself. ||1||

har gun gaavahu sadhaa subhaaee ||
So sing forever the Glorious Praises of the Lord with loving devotion.

Singing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises day and night,

One who is blessed by the Primal Lord, the Architect of Destiny,

realizes the subtle essence of the Lord.

The Messenger of Death does not come near him.

In the Lord's Sanctuary, Nanak has found peace. ||4||9||59||

Anyways, the Gurdwara was nice and all but a few things were very odd. For example instead of using the words Darbar Sahib, the had a sign that said "NO FOOD OR DRINK IN PRAYER HALL". Also, another sign said,

"MEMBERSHIP IN S.S.C.F.
LIFE MEMBER $501
MEMBER $ 51
...."

What is the need of membership to Gurdwara? Since when does being part of the sangat come with a price? This sign really ticted me off. Also, even at Gurdwara in CT we have membership. To me it makes no sense. Why do we need membership? Why do we need politics. We should go to Gurdwara to listen to keertan and eat langar. No need for politcs
